Average sales for HARDI members increased by 3.6 percent in December 2018, and the average annualized growth for the 12 months through December was 11.4 percent.

“This legislation, if enacted, would impede HARDI’s ability to advocate on behalf of our member businesses and would restrict the first amendment rights of our members,” said Palmer Schoening, vice president of government affairs, HARDI.

“This year got off to a 4.4 percent start, which looks pretty good when you realize it is being compared to a month [January 2018] that had a 19.4 percent gain.”

My advice to myself would be to make sure that I paint a clear and honest picture of the situation for our people and to trust in the power of a common goal and the abilities of the excellent people in the company. I’d tell myself to worry a whole lot less and enjoy the ride a lot more.

“While economic headwinds should create some softness in 2019, strength in the labor market and a cautious Fed are encouraging,” said Paul Hallmann, economist, HARDI.
