Nate “The House Whisperer” Adams is the author of “The Home Comfort Book” and the Air Sealing Course. He’s helped numerous clients in Cleveland, Ohio electrify while making their homes healthier and more comfortable since 2014. He’s been interviewed by New York Times, Washington Post, and many other outlets. He’s taught numerous HVAC contractors how to electrify homes and has popularized the a/c-to-heat-pump movement, was a co-author in the Hybrid Heat Homes paper, and consulted on the congressional HEATR and COOLER Acts that came out of that paper. He’s now focused on teaching mainstream consumers what to look for in a new HVAC system to make their home truly healthy and comfortable, which almost always involves a heat pump. He also consults with HVAC companies to help solve sticky building science-based problems.
Joanna is the president and owner of Green Valley Cooling & Heating, a second-generation HVAC company serving southern Arizona since 1968. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an executive MBA from The University of Arizona. Under her leadership, the company has expanded its residential and commercial divisions, launched a successful in-house technical training academy, and earned a reputation for excellence in both customer care and community engagement. She actively contributes to the advancement of the industry through her involvement on multiple advisory councils and serves on several boards. Joanna is passionate about workforce development, operational excellence, and community impact, and brings a well-rounded, field-driven perspective to the trades.
Jack is the founder and executive director of the Geothermal National & International Initiative (GEO-NII) with over 50 years in the utility and geothermal industries. A recognized authority on geothermal heat pumps (GHPs), he is IGSHPA’s Ambassador and current board chair, serves on the American/Canadian Bi National GHP Standards Committee, and helped found New York Geo, the Pennsylvania Geothermal Association (where he is EVP), and California Geo. Jack also pioneered the “Anchor Tenant” concept for community thermal energy networks.
Steve has been a service technician, Trane service manager, Carrier sales rep, and vice president of an energy engineering firm. Steve and his wife Charlotte founded The ACT Group Inc. in 1985 to help HVAC contractors achieve “Increased Profits Through Knowledge.” Steve is the author of “Service Agreement Dynamics,” “50 Low-Cost Ways to Acquire New Customers,” “Boomer Selling,” and “No Pressure Selling.” Seve also created the 4-day No Pressure Selling Boot Camp, now in its 35th year.
Chris is a seasoned HVAC entrepreneur, advisor, and industry thought leader. He is the principal industry advisor at ServiceTitan and co-founder of Go Time Success Group, where he helps contractors grow through strategic planning, financial coaching, and operational excellence. Chris built and sold a highly successful home service company in Oklahoma before dedicating himself to mentoring others in the trades. He also contributes regularly to industry publications and events, bringing real-world insight and data-driven strategies to the forefront.
Mike Luongo is president of Total Home Supply in Pine Brook, New Jersey. Luongo has more than 40 years of experience in distribution, and Total Home Supply, which is focused on online distribution, was launched in 2010. The company’s core mission is to provide specialty products, including packaged terminal air conditioners and vertical terminal air conditioners, but also superior customer service and technical support.
Matt Marsiglio is a 30-year-plus veteran of the HVAC industry. His career started pushing a broom, and he is now the general manager of Flame Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical, where he has spent over 27 years of his career. In addition to Flame, he is also an adjunct faculty and teaches HVAC at the local community college.
Scott Merritt is the former owner of Fire & Ice and an AI and AEO Marketing Master Strategist. He has personally led one of the earliest real-world case studies in Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) for a local service contractor, transforming a traditional contractor website into a living laboratory that AI tools consistently understand, trust, and recommend. As a national columnist and Advisory Board Member for The ACHR NEWS, Scott writes regularly about practical AI adoption, digital strategy, and operational realities facing HVAC contractors. He holds professional certificates in MIT AI Leadership and Data Strategy, Columbia University Digital Strategies for Business, and Northwestern University Digital Marketing Strategies, and focuses on delivering non-technical, immediately actionable insights for business owners.
Ken Misiewicz is the president and CEO of Pleune Service Company, a 100% employee-owned company with offices in Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan. Pleune is a mechanical contractor specializing in commercial and industrial HVAC construction, maintenance, and emergency service. After graduating from Lansing Catholic Central in 1989, Ken attended HVACR vocational training at Lansing Community College and worked for contractors in southeast and mid-Michigan. Ken joined Pleune in 1995 and held a number of positions including service manager, general manager, and COO, assuming the CEO role in 2009. Ken has previously served on the State of Michigan Mechanical Board of Rules, Construction Code Commission, and Lansing Chamber of Commerce Board. He is currently serving on the board of directors for the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Builders & Contractors of Michigan.
Steve has been a veteran of the HVAC industry for over 50 years and is president of Moon Air Inc. He is trained in most aspects of the HVAC industry from industrial, commercial, and residential. He currently holds 53 different licenses in our industry. Steve is always willing to help any way possible to maintain a forward motion and integrity of our HVAC world.
Rich is the owner of both Magic Touch Mechanical and The Fire Place in Mesa, Arizona. He’s been in the HVAC and fireplace industry for over 35 years. He serves on multiple industry committees and boards and holds numerous certifications in HVAC, Building Performance, and Fireplaces. When he’s not geeking out on airflow or flame patterns, you can find him on a motorcycle, a BMX, or jumping out of airplanes.
Bryan is committed to the education and advancement of HVACR technicians. He is the founder of HVAC School, a free online resource, and host of the HVAC School podcast. As a contractor and president of Kalos Services Inc., he remains grounded in the daily challenges and realities of the trade. Bryan is also co-founder of the GRIT foundation that works further to promote the skilled trades and the joy of learning. His primary mission is to help support better technicians who elevate the industry as a whole.
Joe Parsons is the Founder & Principal of Resonant Energy Strategies, a consulting practice focused on geothermal systems, electrification, and decarbonization. A long-time leader in HVACR product development, market strategy, and industry advocacy, he brings deep technical and policy insight to emerging clean-energy applications across the built environment.
Marco is the owner of Balance HVAC in Vero Beach, Florida. He began his career in the HVAC industry as a technician’s helper and steadily advanced to technician and general manager. After a brief departure to serve as vice president of home performance for a leading contractor, Marco returned to the field to launch his own company — built on the insights and values he gained throughout his journey. Today, Marco and his team are on a mission to elevate the standards of the HVAC industry and revitalize the importance of skilled trades.
Butch graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a mechanical engineering degree and has worked in the industry since 1963. He was national president of SMACNA in 1988, held numerous volunteer positions within the industry as well as the Better Business Bureau, and contributed over 200 articles to The ACHR NEWS. His wife, Carol, has supported him for 62 years, and they have two children and three grandchildren.
Crystal is the founder of Lemon Seed Marketing, a strategy-focused agency serving home service companies across the country. With over 20 years of experience in marketing and employee engagement, she specializes in building strong brands and company cultures. A lifelong supporter of the trades, Crystal remains active in her family’s HVAC and plumbing business and serves on the board of Women in HVACR. She’s also the host of “From the Yellow Chair,” a podcast for service industry professionals.
