Danfoss Wins AHRI Chairman’s Challenge

Danfoss makes 83 visits to schools across the U.S. throughout the year

At the beginning of the year, AHRI chairman Ed Purvis established his 2015 Chairman’s Challenge, calling for AHRI member companies to visit schools with HVACR programs to promote careers in the industry and the Rees Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to qualified HVACR students.

OESP Accepting Applications for Annual Dave Nelsen Scholarship Program

This year the association will be awarding a minimum of three $5,000 awards

The National Association of Oil & Energy Service Professionals (OESP) is accepting applications for its Dave Nelsen Scholarship Program. Each applicant is required to write a 500-word essay about themselves. Deadline for receipt of the 2016 application and essay is March 24, 2016.

The 2015 Design Competition focused on a three-story classroom and office building in Doha, Qatar, while for the Applied Engineering Challenge, students were required to design a collapsible portable conditioned shelter for treatment of heat illness victims.

Danfoss has been recognized by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) for making the most visits to technical schools across the country during 2015. Throughout the year, Danfoss made 83 visits to schools across the United States — more than any other AHRI member company.

Johnson Controls Opens VRF Training Facility

Manufacturer opens Dallas facility on the heels of VRF product introduction

Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI) recently opened the doors to a 12,600-square-foot training facility devoted to increasing the industry’s awareness of VRF technology, equipment, and operation. The center, which officially opened in July, boasts a hands-on lab, two 25-person-capacity classrooms, audio/video conferencing capabilities, and a full curriculum to help HVAC contractors and sales professionals deliver quality VRF solutions.
