BACnet International has announced development of The BACnet Institute, an online center for educational resources. Its objective is to provide an easy path to BACnet information and learning for everyone involved with BACnet systems.

As renewable energy systems continue to become more desirable, the need for qualified installers continues to grow. 

During its June meeting, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Career Development Committee awarded 2015 Chapter of Excellence and Emerging Chapter Grants to 13 MCAA student chapters and Faculty Internship Grants to two faculty advisors. 

Based on ASHRAE’s Humidity Control Design Guide for Commercial and Institutional Buildings, the course includes an in-depth discussion of moisture load calculations and how humidity control can be added to HVAC designs for seven different types of commercial buildings. 

On Aug. 26, 2015, Hot Water Products Inc. and AMS Steam Products LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary, will host a grand opening and training event at their new facility located at 7500 N. 81st Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a variety of events between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Distech Controls Inc. recently announced the launch of the Connecting for the Internet of Things (IoT) Building roadshow.

During its mid-year meeting, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) Career Development Committee awarded 10 Chapter of Excellence Grants, three Emerging Chapter Grants, and two Faculty Internship Grants.

The NEWS wanted to highlight these individuals with a list of 40 HVAC professionals under 40 years of age who are accomplishing great things in their respective positions. The members of this list all work hard, think about the big picture, and have the ability to challenge the way things have always been done.

The American Subcontractors Association (ASA) and the Foundation of ASA (FASA) have announced the 2015-16 edition of the ASA/FASA Construction Subcontractor’s Education Catalog, which highlights the newest education programs, books, and downloadable manuals to aid subcontractors.

In addition to the actual contest, contestants have the opportunity to attend special educational seminars at CONNECT, complete with peer-to-peer networking, and gain exposure to the latest technologies and products.
