HVAC contractors have embarked upon a number of environmentally conscious efforts, showcasing innovative displays of green awareness that improve energy efficiency and are cost-effective.

To help battle Legionellosis, which includes both Legionnaires’ disease and Pontiac Fever, ASHRAE is currently developing Standard 188P: “Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems.” The fourth public review draft of the standard is expected to be approved and made available for public comment soon.

Green is really more of a grey area, especially for HVAC contractors. While some enthusiastically believe green still means go, others feel the terminology that once created a spark has all but fizzled out.
