The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) announced the launch of its 2010/2011 fundraising campaign in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada. HRAI joined with the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) on this new initiative in March 2010.
CIPHEX West, a trade show and conference that draws more plumbing, hydronics, HVACR, and water treatment contractors and wholesalers than any other event in western Canada, is set to take place Nov. 3-4 at Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta.
Mohawk College, in partnership with the Canadian Hydronics Council (CHC) and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, has launched new Hydronics Certificate Programs. Applications are currently being accepted for the two certificate programs: Hydronics Designer and Hydronics Installer.

According to the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), its July and August reports showed improving numbers for wholesalers across the industry. The reports, which are produced by the Profit Planning Group (PPG), track HVACR; plumbing; pipe, valves and fittings (PVF); waterworks; and hydronics.
The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) reported that, during the second quarter of 2010, ductless split systems shipments showed the highest product sector gain, increasing by 94 percent.

The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), along with CIPH Manitoba Region, was consulted on the city of Winnipeg’s proposed sewer bylaws. CIPH said that the feedback, dialogue, and cooperation offered by members and the Institute resulted in realistic amendments to the sewer bylaws.
The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) released the 2009 update on its Canadian CFC chiller stock study. This update estimates that 260 chillers previously operating on CFC refrigerants were converted or replaced during 2009, a 2.6 percent decrease compared to 2008.
The Red River College of Applied Arts, Science and Technology will offer its “Residential HVACR” course Sept. 7, 2010 through Feb. 8, 2011. D. Brian Baker will be the course instructor.
