Members of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) have organized the first CIPH Ride for Habitat. Co-sponsored by CIPH and Habitat for Humanity Canada, this motorcycle ride will take place in Ontario on Sunday, Sept. 19, to raise funds for the charity.
Dennis Larson, chair of Refrigerant Management Canada (RMC), announced that the program has collected and safely destroyed over 2 million kilograms of environmentally damaging refrigerant waste. RMC noted that this achievement highlights the success of the program.
On June 30, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) marked the official sod turning for its seventh Habitat for Humanity Home Build. Over 250 delegates, companions, and guests from across Canada and the United States attended the event in Newfoundland.
The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) and the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) signed an agreement to have RSES become an authorized delivery partner for HRAI SkillTech Academy’s Residential Mechanical Ventilation Installation training program.
The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) executive/finance committee recently hosted a special dinner with the CIPH Atlantic Region and CIPH Newfoundland Region board of directors. The dinner included the presentation of several awards.
The MCEE tradeshow and conference has been set for April 20-21, 2011 at Place Bonaventure in Montreal. The show’s producers note that four shows in one makes MCEE the meeting place for eastern Canada’s mechanical and electrical industries.
The CIPH MEET tradeshow held in early May was pronounced a success. According to committee chairman Mike Patterson (Emco), traffic was up over 2008, with 5,514 industry members attending the two-day show.
The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), along with the Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), has expanded the voluntary “Switch the Stat” program. The goal of the expanded program is to meet British Columbia’s extended producer responsibility regulations for thermostats.
Refrigerant Management Canada (RMC) officially launched its new and improved website: www.refrigerantmanagement.ca. RMC said the updated website more accurately reflects the current branding and positioning of this environmental care program.
Warren Heeley, president of the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI), presented the HRAI CMS Award for educational achievement to two honorees at the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society Canada (RSES Canada) Annual Meeting in Toronto.
