Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division has opened two Mitsubishi Electric Training Centers — in Orlando, Fla., and Chicago — to meet growing demand for service and application training among HVAC contractors and engineers.
Once considered an overseas staple and domestic add-on, ductless HVAC equipment is now pushing the limits of the add-on market and spilling into contractors’ businesses as a primary system option.
Many contractors agree that ductless equipment is bound to increase in popularity. Those that are installing mini-splits are utilizing the option as a way to boost their bottom lines and provide the customer with yet another comfort solution.
The company, which was divested by Lennox Intl. Inc. on March 22, was acquired by American Capital Ltd., a private equity firm and global asset manager.
