Geothermal Heating and Cooling Technology to Reduce Energy Reliance by 65 Percent

Rockline Industries announced that it has installed the nation’s largest single geothermal heating and cooling system for use in a production facility. The use of geothermal technology at the 1.2 million-square-foot plant, in Booneville, Arkansas, is expected to reduce Booneville’s reliance on overall energy and natural gas by 65 percent.
Nearly 300 WaterFurnace dealers and employees from across the country mixed business with pleasure at the company’s annual meeting in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The three-day event included a minor league baseball game and featured a mix of informative presentations, factory tours, and educational breakout sessions.
While there are still barriers to the growth of geothermal, including high first cost and logistical challenges, experts believe these can be overcome through advancing technology and educational efforts.
The Geothermal Exchange Organization is continuing to concentrate its lobbying efforts on including geothermal in federal and state definitions of renewable energy.
