Aids in the Enforcement of Code Requirements Related to HVAC System Design

ACCA has released a new video series aimed at helping code officials understand the residential HVAC design process. The three-part series, “What Code Officials Need to Know about HVAC System Design,” gives an overview of the steps involved in doing a load calculation, equipment selection, and duct sizing.
In an effort to make it easier for technicians to install, service, diagnose, and troubleshoot HVACR equipment, ACCA’s Board of Directors adopted a motion “to implore the manufacturers of HVAC equipment to develop and implement open [nonproprietary], universal, onboard diagnostic [OBD] communication protocols.”
