HARDI Members' July Sales Up by 6.8%

A YEAR IN REVIEW: The annual sales growth rate, among HARDI member distributors that participate in the organization's monthly sales survey, was 3.3% for the 12 months through July 2025.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Sales by Heating, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) members that participate in the organization’s monthly sales survey were up 6.8% during July.
The annual sales growth rate was 3.3% for the 12 months through July 2025.
“Five of our regions achieved double-digit sales growth during July 2025,” said Brian Loftus, HARDI’s macroeconomic and residential market analyst. “The outlier was the Western region, where cooling degree days were 12% below normal this month, versus July of 2024, which had 14% more cooling degree days than normal.”
HARDI's monthly sales survey also calculates distributors’ Days Sales Outstanding, a measure of how quickly customers pay their bills. The DSO for July was 37 days, identical to the DSO for July 2024, said Loftus.
The annual sales growth rate for the HARDI distributors surveyed has been in the range of 3.3% to 4.3% this year. “The economy has not been a demand catalyst so far this year, but higher prices being passed through could push distributors' annual sales growth beyond this upper edge during the balance of 2025,” Loftus said.
HARDI members do not receive financial compensation in exchange for their monthly sales data and can discontinue participation in the survey without prior notice or penalty. Participation is voluntary, and the depth of market coverage varies from region to region.
An independent entity collects and compiles the data, which can include sales information about products not directly associated with the HVACR industry.
