CHICAGO — If there is one thing DiversiTech Corp. is excited about in 2018, it’s new products. That was evident from the manufacturer’s booth at the 2018 AHR Expo. In fact, the company plans to launch eight new products in the first 60 days following the expo, according to Alec Minné, senior director of marketing, DiversiTech Corp.

“We have a lot of new products coming,” Minné said. “We were acquired about seven months ago by a private equity firm [Permira Funds], and they are really excited about developing new products. We’re really focusing on developing new things for customers to simplify their work. So far, it’s really starting to pick up steam. We’re moving fast.”

One of the new products on display was DiversiTech’s Flex Inject sealants with dye. The original Flex Inject product was launched a little over a year ago.

“We’ve rebranded to launch Flex Inject with Dye,” Minné said. “Our Flex Inject Sealant Advanced doesn’t include the dye. This has been a phenomenally successful product for us, mainly because it’s easy to use. You don’t need to bring any other equipment. Basically, you attach the high side to the service port, attach the low side to the service port, pull out the little stopper, push the button, and it pushes the chemicals into the system. Then you turn it off, and you’re done. People love it because of its simplicity.”

According to DiversiTech, Flex Inject sealant is so powerful because it reacts with micro droplets of water at the exterior of the leak, creating a protective barrier to keep refrigerant from escaping. Unless the system is opened, the sealant continues to work, preventing future leaks. It is also compatible with all oils and refrigerants, including R-134a, R-404A, R-407C, and R-410A.

The company’s Rapid Positioning Clips were launched last month and also displayed at the expo. The clips fit directly into vertical and horizontal standard 1-5/8-inch strut channels and do not require a tool for install. They are for use in refrigeration, a/c tubing, PEX piping, and conduit support. The Rapid Positioning Clips also prevent cracked and fractured joints by allowing secured pipe to expand. The clips are UL2043 compliant and suitable for plenum spaces. They are available in nine sizes to fit pipes with ¼-inch to 1-5/8-inch outer diameter.

“These really simplify things for technicians,” Minné noted.

DiversiTech also recently launched its AC Security Cages to protect mini-split outdoor condensing units from theft, vandalism, or damage.

“These are designed to protect your mini split, so nobody can steal the copper from it, or just protect it from becoming damaged,” Minné explained. “They’re currently available in multiple sizes, and we will also be expanding those soon.”

The protective metal enclosures feature a textured finish to complement common mini-split cabinet colors. The product comes flat-packed with all hardware included for either a wall or stand-alone mounting option. The unique sliding panel design makes installation quick and easy, and all panels can be removed for maintenance by unscrewing just four bolts.

Lastly, the company also introduced its H-Frame Kits, which allow custom mounting solutions to be built on-site for special or unique applications. The H-Frame Kits come with two foot size options: a pair of 12.6-inch, square-feet legs to accommodate common installations, or a pair of 19.7-inch, square-feet legs for more demanding loads. Each kit comes with rubber mats that adhere to the feet, hot dip galvanized angle brackets, and all necessary hardware. They provide a fully flexible, versatile, and fast on-site assembly solution to meet specific installation requirements.

“AHR was great for us,” Minné noted. “We saw a lot of people come by, we had some interesting questions, and people were interested in our products. It’s been good because people are able to see what we can make available to them.”
