Electric Heating Gains Momentum in New Homes

Electric heating reached its highest-ever share of the U.S. new housing market in 2024, the Building Decarbonization Coalition report said, as 61% of the units completed that year were outfitted with some type of electric system, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.
