Ever since I became the refrigeration editor of The NEWS, I’ve tried to figure out exactly what is “refrigeration.”

I love nature shows, especially those that demonstrate ferocity in the animal kingdom. Last night I caught a segment where an imposing monitor lizard went looking for lunch in a badger’s den, only to end up becoming lunch for the badger.

What if a customer changed his mind and you had to return and install the old equipment and refund the price paid for a new system you had put in yesterday?

John McCain certainly put Joe the Plumber in the limelight. Too bad he didn’t single out an HVACR contractor during the debates. Then again, what would he have called him - or her? Joe HVACR?

If you were at a reception talking, and you said “I’m in HVAC,” it might not spawn much conversation. But, what if you said you were in the health and safety productivity business?
