The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) traveled to Phoenix recently to “Exceed Expectations” at the organization’s annual conference. .

This seminar is designed for engineers, mechanical contractors, and others looking for in-depth knowledge of commercial hydronic system design.

Contractors asked six HVAC manufacturing executives questions at ACCA’s 2014 CEO Roundtable forum, sponsored by The ACHR NEWS.

The conference featured several MainStage sessions, more than 30 Learning Labs, and the IE3 Expo, giving contractors heaps of knowledge to take home and implement in their business practices.

Members who attended were greeted with a carefully designed technical and business-oriented educational program that addressed specific challenges facing performance-based contractors.

Hosts will discuss how engineers and contractors have difficulty implementing GeoExchange systems when a building has a significant load imbalance due primarily to the significant cost increase of the ground heat exchanger, which may eliminate GeoExchange as a viable option.

While training in the HVACR industry begins to really take hold at the secondary/post-secondary level, continuing education spans a career.

The introductory course on motors and variable-speed drives will give participants a better understanding of motors and how they work. 

The event provided an opportunity for attendees to bounce ideas off one another as they tried to solve the most pressing issue currently facing HVACR educators in the U.S. — how to attract new talent to the industry.
