NEWS Hosts Webinar on Hybrid GeoExchange Systems
Hybrid Systems Can Help Reduce Upfront, Long-Term Operating Costs
TROY, Mich. — The NEWS and ClimateMaster Inc. will host a free webinar, titled, “Hybrid GeoExchange Systems for Small and Large Scale Projects,” at 1 p.m. ET on April 29.
Trey Austin, owner, Geo-Energy Services LLC, will discuss how engineers and contractors have difficulty implementing GeoExchange systems when a building has a significant load imbalance due primarily to the significant cost increase of the ground heat exchanger, which may eliminate GeoExchange as a viable option.
Another option is a hybrid system that typically involves a cooling tower coupled to a ground heat exchanger. The hybrid configuration can often reign in the installation cost by as much as 50 percent while only increasing the long-term operation cost by 5-10 percent on average. This balance often changes a life cycle cost analysis payback from 12-plus years down to five to eight years, or sooner.
Webinar attendees will learn alternative options, installation costs, and long-term operation costs. To register for this free webinar, visit www.achrnews.com/webinars.
