Launched in 2010, the EnVisioneer of the Year Award competition recognizes North American end users, municipalities, building owners, or original equipment manufacturers that have introduced a new product, opened a new facility, or invested in a building or system upgrade within the past 18 months using Danfoss products or solutions to realize significant energy and/or environmental savings.
Tecumseh Products Co. has announced a new sales and marketing structure as part of its growth strategy in Brazil and Latin America. The new team is charged with introducing the company’s latest generation of hermetic compressors and condensing units and leading customers through pending refrigerant and energy efficiency changes.
Ray McKenzie and Mac Chaney of Dothan and Madison, Alabama, have developed a new compressor that they claim has the potential to revolutionize the HVAC and refrigeration industries. The unit is said to be up to 50 percent more efficient than conventional equipment, and is also small, lightweight, and quiet.

The function of an oil reservoir, commonly known as an oil trap, is to prevent large oil slugs from forming. This is accomplished by trapping a small amount of oil in the reservoir or trap and gradually returning it to the compressor.
For maximum efficiency, a bank of compressors should be connected to evaporators operating at similar temperatures. From an operational standpoint, cases of different evaporating temperatures can be connected to the rack; however, this causes a substantial energy loss.
If hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) are to have long-term viability, the low-global warming potential (GWP) versions will have to separate themselves from high-GWP types. And the survivors will have to play their part in energy efficiencies, especially in commercial buildings.
Emerson Climate Technologies announced that on-the-go HVACR professionals now have access to its Online Product Information (OPI) database for Copeland™ compressors from a mobile app.
