The term radiant heating makes most people think about warm floors. Although it’s true there are many excellent applications for radiant floor heating, it’s not the only type of radiant panel that can deliver excellent comfort.
While transformation in buildings has been brewing for decades, the new goals of policy — in the U.S. and around the world — will require much more coherence from every corner of the HVAC industry. A group of more than 40 industry leaders met with that goal in mind at Danfoss’s 26th EnVisioneering Symposium — Tomorrow’s Buildings: New Driving Forces — June 7 in Washington, District of Columbia.
The two-day event, which focused on helping dealers strengthen and grow their businesses, featured presentations on WaterFurnace products, marketing tools, training, financing, and more. Attendees also heard updates from the Geothermal Exchange Organization (GEO) and the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) regarding the geothermal tax credits.

American Residential Services (ARS), a national provider of air conditioning, heating, and plumbing services, has announced an endorsement agreement with Tim Tebow. It includes a commercial in which Tebow announces that ARS will offer special discounts for customers with matching donations to the Tim Tebow Foundation.
United Rentals Inc., a provider of equipment rentals including portable HVAC equipment, announced the launch of a new online service that allows renters to browse, price, reserve, and schedule equipment through any Internet-enabled device.
The new rule raises the salary threshold for overtime eligibility from $455 per week, or $23,660 per year, to $913 per week, or $47,476 per year. As a result, more than 4.2 million salaried workers across the country will now be eligible for overtime pay. Employers have until Dec. 1, when the rule becomes effective, to prepare for the changes.
