Taco Comfort Systems’ booth was among the busiest on the AHR Expo’s opening day. The Taco staff kicked off the event with a press conference that showcased a number of new products and leadership.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, is an established means of disinfection and can be used to prevent the spread of certain infectious diseases. UV-C radiation kills or inactivates microbes by damaging their DNA.

After more than 100 years in the ceiling fan industry, Hunter Fan Co. announced it is expanding into the industrial and commercial market, launching a new division of its business, Hunter Industrial. The debut product from Hunter is the TITAN Industrial Fan, a high volume low speed fan, debuting at the 2016 AHR Expo.

General Electric proudly showcased its revamped line of packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) units to an intimate audience Tuesday evening at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse in Orlando. 

In a New Product and Technology Theater presentation at the 2016 AHR Expo, David Salyer, product manager, WaterFurnace International Inc., discussed “A New Generation of Water-Source Heat Pumps.”

At a press conference held at the 2016 AHR Expo, Dwyer Instruments announced a new air balancing instrument. The SMART Air Hood will be released in April. The product is the result of three years of research and collecting the voice of the customer to improve the performance and accuracy of air balancing.

The AHR Expo Innovation Awards competition honors the most inventive and original HVACR products, systems, and technologies showcased at each year’s show in the categories of: building automation; cooling; green building; heating; indoor air quality; plumbing; refrigeration; software; tools & instruments; and ventilation.
