LAS VEGAS — Taco Comfort Systems’ booth was among the busiest on the AHR Expo’s opening day.

The Taco staff kicked off the event with a press conference that showcased a number of new products and leadership.

Standing before Taco’s trademark green-colored booth, former CEO John Hazen White Jr., who now operates under the title of executive chairman, addressed his role in the company and shared his excitement for what the future holds.

“A lot of things are changing at Taco,” Hazen White Jr. said. “I’m not operating Taco anymore. Instead, I’m more watching it, enjoying it, and hopefully seeing it transition to a fourth generation of the White family.”

New CEO, Wil VandeWiel, described the company’s vision as a market-focused, customer-oriented company.

“That means our top priority is to provide comfort and convenience to our customers,” he said. “We’re not only about hydronics; we’re much more than that. We’re a dominant player in this industry.”

The Cranston, Rhode Island-based manufacturer also introduced several new products, including the 0015e3, three-setting, electronically commutated motor (ECM)-powered circulator; the Building Efficiency System Tool (BEST); the SmartPlug Instant Hot Water Control®, which won the 2017 AHR Expo Innovation Award in the plumbing category, and more.

“Our focus this year is high-efficiency comfort and Taco Family Support,” said Ken Watson, marketing and brand manager. “That underscores our commitment to not only provide high-efficiency products and controls, but the tools and education to increase efficiency and productivity of our customers to our design software, selection apps, and training.”

Additionally, Robert Bean, director, Indoor Climate Consultants Inc., received the second annual Dan Holohan Lifetime Contribution to Comfort Award. Holohan won the inaugural award last year.
