Although the Department of Energy (DOE) announced its final rule establishing regional standards for air conditioners, heat pumps, and furnaces last October, the fight is not over yet. Both the Heating, Air-conditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) and Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) have filed petitions to intervene through the United States Court of Appeals against the DOE.

always an easy transition. “It’s so different than a traditional wholesaling
model,” said Spencer Shaw, president of Bartos Industries, a Dallas-based

Bartos, agreed.
“Work hard. Play hard. That is the kind of schedule we have

of Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International
(HARDI) as he opened the 2011 Annual Conference at the Grand Wailea Resort in
the island paradise. Nearly 1,000 members traveled to Maui for the annual
conference.

relationships with other wholesalers and vendors, sharing ideas and concerns,
and looking for opportunities within our industry.”
