However, with some houses, that may not be the case. If builders don’t take proper steps to cover ducts during construction, homeowners may be in for a rude awakening.

Adding duct-cleaning services can bring in valuable new business and boost a contractor’s bottom line, but before a contractor enters the market, he or she needs to understand and commit to the time and costs involved in properly training and equipping their teams.
As the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) continues to implement energy conservation standards that affect numerous HVACR appliances and components, industry leaders are pointing out that high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment is only as good as the ductwork it’s attached to. That’s why they’re seeking to define what, exactly, green ductwork is and determine how it can be implemented in homes and buildings throughout the U.S.
By removing contaminants from a home’s air duct system, the effects of dust and mold are greatly reduced. Clean, healthy, circulating air is a must for those sensitive to indoor air contaminants, especially with allergies being at an all-time high in America.
