House Committee Approves Construction Bill for Pentagon
WASHINGTON, DC — The House Appropriations Committee has rapidly moved a $10.5 billion spending bill for military construction to rebuild the Pentagon. Most of the funding to repair the Pentagon will come from the $40 billion emergency supplement (HR 2888) that Congress approved on September 14.
The construction bill is now set for consideration by the complete House on Friday, September 21; quick passage is expected. It provides approximately $500 million more than asked for by the president.
