RenewAire Adds to Commercial ERV Lineup
COMPACT MODEL: The RenewAire LE5X energy-recovery ventilator (ERV) is designed for smaller specialty education, healthcare, and retail spaces.
WAUNAKEE, Wis. — RenewAire, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of HVAC and IAQ products, has added the LE5X to its LE Series line of commercial packaged, static-plate, enthalpy-core energy-recovery ventilators (ERVs).
The LE5X extends the cfm capabilities of the LE Series down to 1,250 cfm, completing a static-plate ERV lineup of between 1,250 cfm and 11,000 cfm. Designed for smaller specialty education, healthcare, and retail spaces, the LE5X allows engineers to specify exact ERV cfm requirements, delivering right-sized performance without added cost, a RenewAire press release said.
The five-static-plate-core LE5X is available in indoor and rooftop configurations. Engineers can also select from multiple airflow orientations, allowing the LE5X to function as a self-contained unit or as an IAQ complement to variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, fan coils, chilled beams, heat pumps, radiant floor heating and cooling, and packaged terminal air conditioning systems.
Despite its compact size, the LE5X delivers many of the same standard specifications and customization options found in larger commercial ERVs, the press release said. The unit is factory wired and has a single-point electrical connection for quick installation. A premium efficiency IE3 totally enclosed, fan-cooled motor is standard; an ultra premium efficiency IE5 motor is available as an upgrade. Both motor types are offered in 3 hp, 5 hp, and 7.5 hp configurations. Variable frequency drives (VFDs) are optional with IE3 motors and included with the IE5 motor option for variable airflow control.
The RenewAire 24VAC transformer relay package is the standard control package. Optional enhanced and premium Integrated Programmable Control (IPC) packages enable fine-tuning of motor speeds, temperature, humidity, and airflow monitoring, factory preprogrammed operational sequences, and other features. Control upgrades also support sensor activation, handheld remote operation, parameter display, filter alarms, and other advanced features. Optional communication interfaces include BACnet, MS/TP or IP, Modbus, and TCP/IP.
The LE5X comes standard with MERV 8 filters and can accommodate MERV 13 filters to comply with ASHRAE 62.1 2025 requirements.

• External static pressure range of 0 in. to 2 in. water gauge
• Foil-faced insulation of 1 in., or optional insulated double-wall cabinet construction
• AHRI 1060 certified cores that are ETL listed, NEMA Class 1 rated, and equipped with Class 1 AMCA-certified low-leakage isolation dampers for outdoor and return airstreams
• Ten-year warranty on the five-static-plate enthalpy cores; two years on the unit
