Distributor Powers Up Solar Energy System at its HQ

POWER SHIFT: An August 27 ribbon-cutting marked the activation of the rooftop solar energy system at the Bolingbrook, Illinois, headquarters of HVACR controls master distributor Neuco Inc.
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. — Neuco Inc., a master distributor of HVACR controls, has completed and activated the rooftop solar panel system at its Bolingbrook, Illinois headquarters. The system went live on July 15, 2025, following final approval from the utility company ComEd, and is now generating clean energy for the facility.
The installation includes 1,393 solar panels. Over the next 30 years, it’s expected to produce more than 27.6 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity while saving approximately 19,591 tons of CO₂ emissions. That’s equivalent to eliminating 4,221 cars from the road for a year or avoiding the use of 2.1 million gallons of gasoline, a Neuco press release said. Monthly electricity costs are projected to drop by up to 68%.
“This project is about more than just energy savings,” said Paul Neustadt, executive chairman of Neuco. “It’s about making intentional decisions that benefit our environment, our employees and the long-term health of our business. We’re proud to take this step forward.”
Designed and installed in partnership with Verde Solutions, the solar system reflects Neuco’s ongoing investment in sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence, the press release said. The system is expected to operate for at least 30 years with minimal maintenance.
To celebrate the new installation, Neuco hosted a “Solarbration” ribbon-cutting event on August 27 at its Bolingbrook facility. The event featured remarks from Neustadt, Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta, and Verde Solutions CEO Chris Gersch, who applauded the company’s leadership in clean energy and community impact.
“This initiative not only lowers our operating costs but also reinforces our role in building a more sustainable future,” said Neil Finke, business process improvement manager at Neuco, who helped lead the project from planning through completion.
