New Winsupply Location Opens in Richmond, Va.

RICHMOND, Va. — Winsupply Inc. has added a new local company with the opening of Winsupply N. Richmond.
Winsupply N. Richmond serves the residential and commercial HVAC industries. President Matt Jones officially opened the doors for business on June 15.
Jones spent nearly 15 years at a large HVAC distributor. After a year at a smaller distributor, Jones said, he knew he possessed the wherewithal to build his own operation, a press release from Winsupply said. That’s when he learned about the Winsupply business model, which provides financial assistance and business support to entrepreneurs.
“I started by building a business plan to start our own company, then stumbled upon the Winsupply model,” Jones said. “It’s just great. You build your own path, and there is no ceiling. I plan to drive this business as large as I can.”
The Winsupply business model is built on sharing, trusting, and helping, the press release said: Sharing through equity partnerships, trusting local owners with autonomy, and helping through high-quality, low-cost, centralized support services.
“It is truly your own business with local decisions and local management,” Jones said. “I have watched great distributors fail due to losing their local feel. It's about the customers and knowing their needs. Our customers like that we are truly a local company.”
Winsupply N. Richmond has four full-time employees and one part-time employee. Jones plans to add a fifth full-time role soon.

“This company has over 100 years in HVAC sales and distribution, which is quite impressive these days,” Jones said.
Winsupply N. Richmond rents its space from an existing Winsupply local company, Winsupply of Richmond, which primarily serves the plumbing industry.
The new local company fits into Winsupply’s growth strategy in the Virginia area, said Rob McCullough, area leader for Winsupply.
“Richmond is a growing city, and while we had a team within the Winsupply of Richmond (formerly Noland), this new company exclusively concentrates on HVAC,” McCullough said. “It is a win-win for both companies. One can focus on plumbing and the other on HVAC.”
Another Winsupply local company in Virginia, Winsupply Virginia Beach, was opened this spring by president Christian McGinty. It serves HVAC customers.
“Now with the new Virginia Beach and Richmond entities, we are looking for entrepreneurs to go north into the Washington, D.C., metro market with HVAC-minded companies,” McCullough said. “My goal is to find capable, hardworking entrepreneurs to establish at least four new local companies in this area, and we could include two plumbing companies as well.”
Winsupply’s goal for 2025 is to open 20 local companies across its U.S. footprint. Winsupply local companies are expected to achieve nearly $8.3 billion in sales for the year.
