Winsupply Opens New Location in Raleigh, N.C., Area

NEW CREW IN CLAYTON: The staff at Winsupply of Clayton, a new plumbing and HVAC distribution location in Clayton, North Carolina. The operation is led by local company president Brendan Recchia (wearing vest and checkered shirt).
CLAYTON, N.C. — Winsupply Inc. has opened a new location, Winsupply of Clayton, in Clayton, North Carolina. Winsupply of Clayton will serve local plumbing and HVAC professionals.
Brendan Recchia, an experienced Winsupply local company president, will lead Winsupply of Clayton. The company opened the 18,000-square-foot facility at the end of November and plans a grand opening for the spring.
Recchia was recruited through a national firm as part of a Winsupply Junior Military Officer (JMO) and Manager in Training (MIT) program after leaving the U.S. Army in 2013.
Before landing at Winsupply, Recchia had considered about a dozen possible jobs, such as pharmaceutical or technical sales and operations, a Winsupply press release said. But something clicked once he heard about Winsupply’s business model and opportunities, he said.
“The goal from day one was to become a president/owner,” Recchia said.
Recchia has seven employees at the Clayton location, but is hiring for warehouse, inside sales, and counter sales jobs.
Winsupply’s presence in North Carolina spans about 20 locations — across most wholesale construction segments. The state has more than 11 million residents and, in 2024, saw the fourth-largest population gain among U.S. states — after Texas, Florida, and California, according to U.S. Census data.

“This will provide much-needed growth in the large Raleigh market,” said Winsupply area leader Rob McCullough of the new location. “We have had only one plumbing location for years there (in Wake Forest), and this will help gain strength for both local companies.”
Recchia said that unlike in a franchise-franchisee model, which is full of expectations and rules to follow, Winsupply local company presidents enjoy an equity partnership model in which they can make many decisions independently.
“It allows me the ability to make employee decisions and lead the way I should lead and how my employees need to be led,” Recchia said. “An added benefit is you get equity.”
“Brendan is uniquely qualified to take on a new start,” McCullough said.
