The National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM) annually recognizes individuals that have either excelled within the NAOHSM organization or within the oil heating industry. Starting at the 2009 annual convention in May, NAOHSM will be presenting its first Oilheat Technician of the Year award.
Grainger recently awarded a Tools for Tomorrow scholarship to Metropolitan Community College (MCC) student Jacob Blankenship and to Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) student Sam Marchiafava. The HVACR industry remains on track to deal with a significant reduction in the production of R-22 starting in 2010. But that 75 percent reduction from 1996 levels may be even greater based on refrigerant rules proposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA also seems to be moving to make it tougher to deal with any new R-22 equipment as of 2010.
Ineos Fluor Americas LLC announced that Chief Administrative Law Judge Paul Luckern of the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), issued an initial determination finding that Sinochem’s R-134a infringes on Ineos Fluor’s patent. “Ineos is committed to vigorously protecting its intellectual property,” said Peter Geosits of Ineos.
LG Electronics USA celebrated the grand opening of the LG Training Academy in Roswell, Ga., to support its fast-growing commercial air conditioner business. At 16,000 square feet, this facility has the capability to train hundreds of engineers, contractors, and technicians each month. The training academy is the centerpiece of the new Roswell facility.
Beginning the opening of trading on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, WaterFurnace shares are quoted and traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange in both U.S. and Canadian currency. Currently the company reports results in U.S. dollars and pays dividends in U.S. dollars, but trades only in Canadian currency. From now on, shares can be bought and sold in either currency.
