The $60 million unit at the Calvert City, Kentucky, plant is for the production of Arkema’s Forane 1233zd refrigerant and will be one of only two sites in the U.S. where that refrigerant is made.

Customers can place orders with no minimum quantity, no maximum quantity (orders exceeding 5,000 units may require additional lead time), and no requirement to have orders bundled with other refrigerants.
In a blog post for an audience of Nest Thermostat users, the company said that “it has become increasingly challenging to continue to update these products given the early hardware.”
