According to an AHR Expo and ASHRAE Journal survey sent to more than 1,400 HVACR manufacturers worldwide, there is growing optimism for improving economic prospects in 2017. Based on survey results, 86 percent of the respondents expect their sales to grow in the coming year.
"In 2015, women comprised 57 percent of the national labor force, according to the DOL; however, only 1.7 percent of the total employed heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration installers and technicians were women. Women represent an untapped resource for the HVACR industry."
Contractors can create a safety and health program using a number of simple steps that include training workers on how to identify and control hazards, inspecting the job site with workers to identify the problems with equipment and materials, and developing responses to possible emergency scenarios in advance.
