The Linc Group (TLG) has acquired the Charlotte, N.C., operations of Padgett Services, a commercial HVAC company that specializes in cabling and electrical retrofits. With the addition of Padgett Services – Charlotte, Linc will now have two company-owned locations in North Carolina.
A survey about the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) Website’s renewables database yielded responses from 85 members, with contractors representing just over half of initial respondents. Over 90 percent indicated that they were unaware of the database prior to the survey.
After celebrating 75 years of customer service last year, Atlas Air decided to change its name to reflect its renewed commitment to a higher standard of customer care. Now called AtlasCare, the company announced its new title to more than 150 employees, colleagues, and suppliers who were invited to the brand launch.
Illinois contractor Mechanical Inc. was made the mechanical contractor of choice for Sherman Hospital’s $310 million replacement hospital in Elgin, Ill. Scheduled to open in late 2009, the hospital will be mainly heated and cooled by geothermal energy from a 15-acre artificial lake next to the facility.
ICOR International, an Indianapolis-based refrigerant producer, has assigned JSG Associates, Tempe, Ariz., to its Western sales territory. JSG will support distributors and end users across the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Colorado.
TD Industries has announced the appointment of Dora Ann Verde to its board of directors. Verde, a CPA and partner in the public accounting firm of Garza/Gonzalez & Associates in San Antonio will serve as chairperson for TD Industries’ audit committee.
The Clyde Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) in Clyde, Texas, has completed a $792,000 project to lower its utility costs and improve operations, comfort, and efficiency at its facilities. The Energy Solutions division of TAC accomplished the work as a performance contract with the district.
Ferguson Heating & Cooling announced the opening of two new branches for the northern Ohio market. The branches will be located in Cleveland and Akron - and each will be more than four times the size of Ferguson’s existing Cleveland and Akron branches that were part of the acquisition of United Automatic.
According to the California Energy Commission’s “Summer 2008 Electricity Supply and Demand Outlook,” California is expected to have adequate electricity supplies to meet demand this summer even with hotter-than-average temperatures.
McAfee Heating and Air Conditioning, a NEWS’ 2007 “Best Contractor to Work For” winner, was recently honored for “Outstanding Safety” by the National Air Duct Cleaner’s Association (NADCA). To receive such an award, a company must have little or no instances of injuries or accidents over a three-year period.
