Greenheck was selected as the 2016 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year in Milwaukee by an independent panel of judges representing the industry, education, and the public sector. This is the third time Greenheck has received the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award in the Mega Category where the state’s largest corporations compete. The company was also recognized for this prestigious award in 2004 and 2012.

Residential and commercial sectors, coupled with rising disposable income, are augmenting demand for air conditioners across the globe. Growing acceptance of air conditioners as a utility product, rather than a luxury product, is anticipated to boost growth in the global air conditioners market during the forecast period.

There are over 5.6 million commercial buildings in the U.S., comprising 87 billion square feet of floor space. Air moving, heating, and cooling systems account for the largest amount of electricity used in these buildings. The industry has made intensive efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of motors and driven equipment. However, the belt drive connecting these components is critical to achieving maximum efficiencies. Two simple solutions for improved HVAC system performance are the use of energy efficient belts and proper drive installation.

LG Electronics USA Air Conditioning Technologies has added two more industry veterans, further enhancing its commercial applied sales and customer experience organizations. These changes address the evolving needs of the U.S. market and support the growth of LG’s variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology. 

Danfoss has appointed Scott Cohen as regional business development manager for its non-residential heating business in North America. In this role, Cohen will focus specifically on the growth of the energy-saving Danfoss AB-QM™ pressure independent control valve in hydronic applications throughout the Northeast U.S.

Even though the theme, workforce, is not our yearlong focus in Distribution Center, I still find the topic one of unending fascination. It’s not surprising that we have a regular stream of stories that I hope are helpful on this topic.

Spring is here, and I’m going to share my spring calendar with you. Not because it’s particularly interesting or that you should care what I’m up to, but because I hope it may serve as a template for you as you plan your team’s involvement in spring HARDI activities (and, if you’re like me, you like to book all your travel at once when sales are on to get the most bang for the buck).
