EcoFactor® announced that it has been awarded U.S. Patent 8,751,186 for the use of connected thermostats to calculate the dynamic thermal properties of buildings. The company said it is the 20th patent it has received for its approach to energy management and intelligent home automation.
These temperature-related issues are often corrected simply by renovating the duct system to cure duct leakage and air-balancing issues, which created pressure-related problems in the building. There are instances, though, when you can have the perfectly designed and installed HVAC system and these temperature complaints still exist.
Optimism remains high that the federal government will extend existing tax credits beyond 2016, and local utilities and state governments will start (or continue) offering incentives to encourage homeowners to invest in GHPs.
