Senate Building May Now Be Safe For Reentry
WASHINGTON, DC — Preliminary testing done on the Hart Senate Office Building, which had to be fumigated a second time to eliminate anthrax spores, shows that the offices are anthrax-free. Final test results are expected by the end of the week.
Once the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which performed the fumigations, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Capitol physician decide that the facility is safe to enter, the building's ventilation, fire protection, electrical, plumbing, and security systems will be tested.
