Cherie A. Shanks and John R. Sampish have joined Murphy Company Mechanical Contractors and Engineers (St. Louis, MO) as project engineer and design/build engineer, respectively, in the company’s Denver office.

Frank R. Reid of Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (Mundelein, IL) was re-elected president of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Chicago (MCA) at the association’s 2001 Annual Business Meeting. Other officers elected are:

— Vice president, Gary Statfield, Mechanical Inc., Freeport;

—Treasurer Larry Fisher, Heatmasters, Inc., Chicago; and

— Secretary Robert F. Lawinger, S.J. Reynolds Co., Inc., Western Springs.

Elected to two-year terms on the MCA board of directors are:

— Kathleen McCauley, McCauley Mechanical Construction, Inc. Bridgeview;

— Paul Neubauer, Dahme Mechanical Industries, Inc.; Arlington Heights; and

— David Weiner, Advance Mechanical Systems, Inc., Mt. Prospect.

Jim McCauley of McCauley Mechanical Construction, Inc. retired as chair of the arbitration committee after serving in that post for over a decade.

Tomas Lenman has resigned as a director — tubing systems division of Roth Industries, Inc. (Forest Park, IL). Due to the amount of time and his reputation in the industry, he is widely known as “Mr. PEX.”

First Supply Group (LaCrosse, WI) is realigning areas of responsibility in sales and marketing. As part of this restructuring, Brad Peterson has been promoted to vice president of sales and Elliot Collier has been promoted to vice president of marketing.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has named Mark Owen as editor of the ASHRAE Handbook series, and will serve as a technical editor on ASHRAE’s other publications. Prior to this, he was vice president of production at William E. Owen and Associates, Marietta, GA, where he designed commercial, industrial, and residential hvac systems and managed engineering projects through the construction coordination phase.
