The “Cool Tools Thermal Shield” creates a barrier that retards heat transfer through metal during soldering and brazing, and reduces the risk of heat-related damage, the company says. Applied to pipes before brazing, it helps prevent heat from traveling to valves and other components. Applied to sheet metal adjacent to the welding area, it prevents heat slag from adhering to the metal. Used before welding or soldering, it shields against overheating or distortion of metal due to heat. The product is available in a paste or gel spray.
