Software Gives Contractors a Window into Home Systems

BOSTON — Software provider Sendal Inc. has launched Sendal Aware, a proactive monitoring service for HVAC and home services companies.
Sendal Aware gives contractors visibility into issues that may signal problems in the home, including HVAC systems that are not responding as expected, excessive heat or humidity, mold risk, power failures, IAQ concerns, and water accumulation in a drain pan.
When an issue is identified, Aware alerts the servicing contractor and, when appropriate, the homeowner. This allows contractors to respond faster, improving the customer experience and creating service opportunities based on actual conditions, a press release from Sendal said.
“Home service companies spend significant time and money acquiring customers, but the traditional model often leaves them chasing the next one-time transaction,” said Jim Carroll, CEO of Sendal. “Aware keeps contractors connected after the technician leaves, helping turn a service call into a long-term, recurring relationship.”
Aware helps contractors generate recurring revenue, improve customer retention, identify service needs, and provide homeowner value between visits, the press release said. Its launch coincides with peak cooling season, when emergency HVAC calls create opportunities to introduce proactive monitoring while the cost and inconvenience of breakdowns are fresh in homeowners’ minds.
Aware builds on successful deployments of Sendal Breathe and Sendal Balance, which have end-customer retention of more than 98% year over year. Breathe delivers intelligent IAQ and home performance management, while Balance delivers whole-home humidity and targeted comfort control, the press release said.
