A new industry survey is shedding light on what HVAC contractors expect most from their distributors. According to the Contractor of the Future study from Farmington Consulting Group and ACCA, product availability ranked as the number one factor contractors consider when choosing a distributor, followed by pricing and delivery service. And when it comes to critical parts, speed matters. While about half of contractors say next-day availability is acceptable for items like compressors and motors, 31% say their distributor should have those parts available the same day. The survey also found that contractors want same-day access to many everyday items, including non-OEM parts and supplies like filters and ductwork.
