HOUSTON — Aspen Manufacturing’s new Versa Pro convertible coils and air-handler systems can be converted in the factory or the field to use either R-32 or R-454B refrigerant.
The dual-refrigerant capability delivers flexibility for both new and retrofit installations, and the introduction of Versa Pro technology marks a significant advancement in HVACR capabilities, offering versatility and adaptability to distributors and contractors, according to a press release from Aspen.
With a focus on compatibility and ease of installation, Versa Pro systems aim to streamline the transition to next-generation refrigerants without sacrificing reliability or energy efficiency, the press release said. Versa Pro systems feature robust construction and ETL (Electronics Testing Laboratories) certification and full compatibility with both R-32 and R-454B. They can be convered in the factory or field to use either refrigerant and coupled with a metering device and a refrigerant detection system (RDS).
“When HVAC contractors ask for Aspen, they expect industry-leading technology coupled with ease of installation,” said Jason Makowski, vice president of product management at Aspen. “Contractors can now confidently select coils and air-handler systems that meet current standards, regardless of their preferred A2L refrigerant.”
Aspen, located in Humble, Texas, north of Houston, has been making evaporator coils and air handlers since 1975. The company offers solutions for residential, multifamily, and light commercial applications under the Aspen, Aspen Pro, and AirMark brands.
Aspen is a wholly owned subsidiary of RectorSeal, which is owned by CSW Industrials Inc.
