DAVIDSON, N.C. — American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, a brand of Ingersoll Rand, announced the 2018 winners of the Building a Higher Standard awards for commitment to customers, employees, and their communities.

American Standard launched the awards program this year to recognize independent HVAC dealers across the country for exemplifying the brand’s core values, including integrity, community involvement, teamwork, and a focus on continuous improvement in the pursuit of excellence. The 2018 American Standard Building a Higher Standard winners are:

• Florida Keys Air Conditioning and Gemaire Distributors. These two HVAC companies could both be described as hometown heroes. Following the August 2017 devastation of Hurricane Irma, Florida Keys Air Conditioning quickly provided aid and assistance to those in need of critical HVAC parts, replacement units, water, supplies, and more. Gemaire Distributors opened a temporary branch to meet the overwhelming demand due to the severe weather. The branch became a permanent location in Marathon, Florida.
• Andrews Heating & Air Conditioning. Based in Clinton, Indiana, it is a family-owned business that has served as a leading dealer of American Standard products for more than 45 years. Throughout the decades, Andrews has maintained a strong business foundation by remaining true to its values. From investing in the professional and personal growth of its loyal team members to supporting its communities, Andrews’ commitment to upholding quality standards positions the company to succeed for generations to come.
• Shafer Services Plus. Based in San Antonio, this company sought to share its resources and better the community through its Serving South Texas initiative. This program honors deserving community members who are dealing with life-changing conditions or personal hardships by providing free services and systems to increase their home comfort level. As part of Serving South Texas, Shafer Services Plus installed new high-efficiency systems for two local veterans impacted by critical burns and other injuries sustained during their time in service.
• Cary Heating & Air Conditioning. Located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the company is a multi-generational business using its family-grounded values to provide exceptional customer service to its community. The Cary team operates its business based on trust, excellence, and always putting customer happiness first. The team is dedicated to going the extra mile every day, whether it’s helping shovel snow-filled driveways or cleaning up neighborhoods. Cary has earned loyalty, trust, and adoration within the community
