Nexstar Network announced the expansion of its coaching team with the additions of Lucas McAlpin as a customer experience coach and Melvin Music as a business coach.
McAlpin has been a Nexstar employee in the membership sales department for more than a year. However, his more than two decades of experience in outside sales, inside sales, customer service, call center, and the trades have provided the opportunity for him to shift his role and apply his expertise to help members in a coaching capacity.
“Lucas has a strong sales and process background, which has prepared him well for this new role,” said Tom Merriott, a customer experience coach with Nexstar. “Expanding our team by adding Lucas as Nexstar’s third customer experience coach is making everything fall into place.”
“I look forward to working with Nexstar Network members from the call center perspective and really diving deep into the concept of creatively serving customers, because that is what it’s all about,” McAlpin said.
Before being hired as a business coach, Music was the owner of a Nexstar member company. His 17 years of experience as a plumbing, electric, and HVAC business owner uniquely prepared him for his new role; he saw the ups and downs of business firsthand.
“What excites me most about working for Nexstar is that I love to help people; I can speak first hand to the power of Nexstar’s ability to help people and change lives,” Music said. “I hope I can give back as much as I have received from Nexstar.”
Nexstar director of coaching Scott Pearson said that Music will bring a valuable perspective to the members he will work with.
“Melvin brings a rich dimension of experience to our membership, from starting a company from scratch, to adding services to his business, to eventually experiencing the success of selling his business,” Pearson said. “In addition, as a former member of Nexstar, he understands the value of implementing Nexstar best practices. Melvin carries the Nexstar heart with confidence.”
Music joins a team of 48 dedicated coaches, trainers and support staff who work with plumbing, HVAC and electrical residential service contractors to help them improve their businesses.
