The full line of Comfort Distribution Products™ — sheet metal, flex, grilles, registers, and diffusers (GRDs) — now features laser-cut Safety Fittings™, which gives distributors and contractors a line of easier- and faster-to-install HVAC components designed and manufactured to provide greater system integrity for projects while also providing enhanced safety for installers, the company said. Virtually eliminating safety problems stemming from sharp corners and ragged edges, laser-cut Safety Fittings are made using fiberoptic lasers. According to the manufacturer, the components’ edges are smooth-cut for tight, safe, and consistent fitting during installation. The line offers compatible use on a broad range of metals, including galvanized and stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. The software edits patterns applying a small radius (0.030 inch) to all 90-degree edges/corners, virtually eliminating cutting hazards. The laser replicates the cut profile for standard and custom designs. Precision cuts deliver tolerances within 0.001 of an inch.
