Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013: New ebm-papst Diffuser Improves Performance, Reduces Noise
DALLAS — The new AxiTop diffuser for 800 and 910mm axial fans improves both air performance and reduces noise, says ebm-papst. The kinetic energy (velocity) at the exhaust of an axial impeller dissipates when the air is suddenly discharged into the surrounding environment. The AxiTop diffuser is designed to recover this wasted energy by purposely and efficiently decelerating the flow and reducing swirl, boosting the pressure rise of the impeller. Aerodynamic efficiency is increased and acoustic noise is reduced.
The company says that applications such as rooftop refrigeration condensers and heat exchangers can benefit from a dramatic noise reduction without sacrificing performance.
