Ingersoll Rand Company Limited announced that the company has successfully completed its acquisition of Trane. Trane now becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand and Trane common stock is no longer publicly traded. Trane shareholders overwhelmingly approved the acquisition in a special meeting at Trane’s headquarters in Piscataway, N.J.
The “Western Cooling Challenge,” sponsored by the UC Davis Western Cooling Efficiency Center, aims to accelerate the adoption of regionally appropriate cooling technologies for new and existing low-rise, nonresidential buildings. The program is designed to slash electricity use by rooftop air conditioners in the Western United States by more than 40 percent.
