The freewatt® home heating system, manufactured by ECR International Inc., is a green technology for home heating that was displayed at the 2009 AHR Expo. According to Bill Dahlin, director of sales and U.S. distribution, the system operates using microcombined heat and power (microCHP) technology.
The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) has announced the retirement of Jack Klimp, CEO, effective June 1, 2009. In addition, AHRI is restructuring its staff responsibilities. Field Controls published a new report on issues related to safe oil-to-gas burner conversion. According to the company, the recent volatility of oil prices has increased the number of homeowners electing to switch to natural gas or propane, leading to what it calls a “burner conversion frenzy.”
