The Shaheen-Portman energy efficiency bill was reintroduced as S. 1392 on July 30 with changes from the previous version, S. 761. On Aug. 1, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., filed for unanimous consent to bring it to the Senate floor for consideration, but since the Senate has recessed, the bill will come to the floor after recess in September.

Comfort Systems USA Inc., a leading provider of commercial, industrial, and institutional HVAC services, reported net income of $7,762,000 or $0.21 per diluted share, for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013, as compared to $4,468,000 or $0.12 per diluted share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

Tecumseh Products Co. officials announced that the company is expanding operations at its facility in Verona, Miss., to meet increased demand for its products. The expansion represents a multi-million dollar investment for Tecumseh, retaining 350 jobs at the facility and creating up to 150 new jobs over the next five years.

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Educational Institute (ACCA-EI) Standards Task Team (STT) has announced an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review period for its BSR/ACCA 12 QH -201x, “Home Evaluation and Performance Improvement” as a revised industry standard.
