Bosch Thermotechnology, a division of Robert Bosch North America, announced the launch of a national geothermal awareness campaign today, Earth Day 2015, to raise public awareness and understanding of geothermal heating and cooling and its environmental benefits.

Aire Serv has announced the purchase of 12 new franchise locations in the first quarter of 2015. The HVAC franchise company has been offering entrepreneurs and technicians the chance to own their own business since 1992. With these new franchisees, Aire Serv now has 202 franchisees worldwide. 

The Clifford H. “Ted” Rees Jr. Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), announced it is presenting $17,500 in scholarship funds to 10 students studying to become technicians in the HVACR and water heating industry.

A new zero-emission refrigeration system for transportation applications, developed in the United Kingdom, which delivers both power and cooling from liquid nitrogen, has begun on-vehicle testing. Dearman said the system, which features the company’s liquid nitrogen-powered engine, has already produced promising results.

Building commissioning services originated in the United States and United Kingdom in the 1960s and 1970s as a quality assurance measure for new buildings. In recent years commissioning has experienced rapid growth through the spread of green building certification programs, notes Navigant Research.
