Kenneth D. Goodrich, owner and CEO of Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning, Sonoran Air Conditioning, Honeybee Air Conditioning Experts, and The Sunny Plumber, announced two Army veterans as the first beneficiaries of a scholarship endowment he started at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN).

Daikin Industries Ltd. announced that its board members have approved an expansion plan for its Goodman operations in the United States. Over the next several years, Daikin will be building a new state-of-the-art business campus that consolidates the current manufacturing and logistics operations to a location outside of Houston.

Matt Lohr has been named business development manager for GEM Energy’s HVAC service division. Lohr is responsible for managing the new business development team and growing GEM Energy’s HVAC maintenance business in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

Leading Philadelphia-area mechanical construction and energy services firm Burns Mechanical has announced the appointment of Rob Komorowski as senior service account manager. Komorowski brings nearly two decades of experience in the HVAC and energy services industry.

To minimize reliance on fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, conducted extensive research into biomass fuel technology. After looking at almost two dozen plants, the county purchased a Hurst biomass boiler district heating system with a backpressure steam turbine/generator.

Environment Canada announced that it is moving forward with regulatory measures to limit the growth of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). It has published a Notice of Intent to Regulate Hydrofluorocarbons in the Canada Gazette outlining the scope of the proposed measures for HFCs, which are considered potent greenhouse gases.
