EPA Attributes Increase to Growing Economy, Coal Prices, Cold Winter

U.S. greenhouse gas emissions increased 2 percent in 2013 compared to the previous year, according to the latest Greenhouse Gas Inventory report from the EPA. The EPA attributed the increase to the growing economy, declining coal prices, and a cold winter.
Future Supply of Domestic Natural Gas Continues to Grow

The 2014 “Potential Supply of Natural Gas in the United States” report finds the U.S. possesses a technically recoverable natural gas resource potential of 2,515 trillion cubic feet (Tcf). This is the highest resource evaluation in the PGC’s 50 year history — a 5.5 percent increase of 131 Tcf from the previous record-high assessment from year-end 2012.
