The Turbonics product offering provides synergy with Mestek’s Residential Comfort Group

Mestek Inc. has announced the acquisition of Turbonics Inc., Cleveland. Turbonics is a manufacturer of specialty hydronic fan coils and has been providing comfort solutions to the North American HVAC marketplace for more than 50 years.
The Whalen Co. is featuring the WRX Vertical Stack Fan Coil, the first fan coil with a slide-out chassis. “Slide-out chassis have been available for years in heat pumps,” said Tony Landers, VP of sales and marketing. “Whalen has changed the way fan coils are serviced and installed by making the slide-out chassis available.”
The Whalen Co. hosted an event for its sales representatives, customers, and media Sunday evening at the Hard Rock Café Orlando at the Universal CityWalk in Orlando, Florida. More than 200 individuals registered for the event, which was held in the Roots of Rock room of the iconic restaurant and featured food, drinks, and (of course) rock and roll.
Designed for high-voltage fan coil and baseboard applications, the SimpleComfort® SC700 series of fan coil thermostats includes four UL-listed, nonprogrammable models. They support 24 or 115-277 vac, three-speed fan, four-pipe heat/cool applications with precise comfort controls accurate to ±1°F.
Five high-performance heating and cooling solutions for consumers, including a new air conditioner, a heat pump, two gas furnaces, and a fan coil, have been added to the company’s product line. The two-stage air conditioner achieves a cooling efficiency of up to 17.2 SEER.
The next generation fan coil thermostat is designed with a simple and intuitive user interface and can be used in hotels, condos, and school classrooms. The T5500 Series provides universal line voltage (120 or 240 vac) on-off control of two- or four-pipe fan coil units with manual or automatic heat-cool changeover.
